It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Mark Porter, a dedicated Firefighter EMT and Past Chief and commissioner of the Murray Joint Fire District and an employee of Monroe Ambulance.
Porter served our community with unwavering courage, compassion, and leadership. As a firefighter, EMT, and Chief, he embodied the true spirit of service — always the first to answer the call, the last to leave the scene, and a constant quiet, calm and steady source of strength for those around him.
Porter leaves behind a legacy of bravery, mentorship, and kindness that will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow first responders during this incredibly difficult time.
